Description

Rack mounted ArtJet PRO is smart solution to transmit more DMX universes through single Ethernet LAN 10/100Base-T or fibre 100Base-FX link and especially advantageous for long distance installations. Fibre link enhances length of direct communication between transceivers up to 2000 metres eliminating use of unnecessary switches or repeaters.

Supports wide range of network protocols for DMX data transmission: ArtNet I,II,III,4, sACN draft/release, KiNet v1,2, RTTrPL.

Various merging modes available: HTP, LTP, Auto, Priority, Backup, Trigger, XFade (see Merging options). Able to merge up to 4 incoming ArtNet/sACN/KiNet/RTTrPL streams in any combination into DMX512 output for perfect show backup. All DMX ports may be used as inputs or outputs. Can be managed by web interface, ArtGate utility, or any standard software supporting ArtNet. Available as classic Ethernet-DMX ArtGate PRO with up to 16 DMX outputs.

Application

  • Convert DMX512 into ArtNet and sACN protocols in both directions to transmit DMX data through Ethernet LAN and optical link for long distances up to 2000 metres between transmitter and receiver
  • Working with lighting installations when distance between FOH console and stage exceeds 100 metres
  • Transmit more DMX streams with less cables
  • Lighting control and management through single network (Ethernet + fibre)
  • Convert mapped video content from mapping software into DMX streams
  • Ensure interfacing between modern stage lighting software and DMX lighting
  • Real-time control of video projectors and laser units supporting ArtNet or sACN from DMX console

Key Features

  • 1U rack mount case
  • Up to 8 DMX512 ports (XLR5)
  • Integrated fibre optic port
  • 1 Ethernet port (EtherCON)
  • PoE support
  • Natural heat convection, no fans or coolers, no vent slots – full protection from dust and smoke increases product lifetime
  • Maximum surge protection – power supply optimized for voltage from 100 to 315 V
  • Full galvanic isolation of all ports
  • Easy installation and programming
  • Simple user-friendly web interface
  • Configurable DMX port direction
  • Configurable parameters of DMX signal
  • Support network protocols: ArtNet I,II,III,4, sACN draft/release, KiNet v1,v2, RTTrPL
  • Variable merging options: HTP, LTP, Auto, Priority, Backup, Trigger, XFade. Merged data may be outputted to physical DMX ports, and/or looped back to Ethernet as new network universe
  • Full RDM E1.20 support (controller/responder)
  • Static scenes (presets) stored in non-volatile memory
  • Ability to work as standalone splitter/merger
  • Minimum loading time, fastest recovery after short power failure
  • Master IP that never gets lost

Firmware Updates request firmware

v. 4.10, April 2021

  • Minor bugs fixed
  • Several buttons renamed

v. 4.09, February 2020

  • Smart output feature now on each individual port: multiple controllers/converters can be safely connected to the same DMX bus
  • New parameters for individual ports: input timeout, output frame repetition period, output data validity timeout, RDM enable/disable
  • Output universe data can be shifted to offset from -511 to +511: any portion of DMX address space now can be moved to any position
  • SLP support: nodes are now discoverable for consoles and other management systems supporting ANSI E1.17 standard (ACN SDT/DMP)

v. 4.06, February 2019:

  • Per-channel X-Fade merging allows switching between different control sources in more flexible way, and helps implementing other types of data transformation (e.g. universes multiplication).
  • DHCP support makes installation process easier providing dynamic primary IP address while the device is still accessible by static secondary IP.
  • IP address conflict detection helps preventing network collisions and failures.
  • ArtGate devices can be discovered and monitored by any software supporting SNMP v1, v2.

v. 4.05, December 2018:

  • full RTTrPL support
  • KiNet v1,v2 support
  • X-fade and trigger merge modes
  • output internal loopback feature
  • static scenes to be used as source for merging

Merging Options

  • HTP: highest takes precedence,
  • LTP: latest takes precedence,
  • AUTO: last modified takes precedence – smart merging mode,
  • PRIORITY: for sACN streams with priority tag, console with the highest priority for a given Universe will be in charge,
  • New BACKUP: any network universe or local static scene can be selected for outputting when main source fails,
  • New TRIGGER and X-FADE: switch dynamically between lighting desks, media servers, and other control sources.
